Group RolesThere are four tasks to be assigned, each roughly summarizing what they will be doing for the length of the trip. The tasks to be divided between the Company are:
Guide - In charge of all decisions concerning route once embarked, rest, and supplies. A good Guide has a high Wisdom and the Survival proficiency. Scout - In charge of finding safe camp sites, opening new trails. Scouts rely on Stealth and Investigation. Hunter - In charge of finding food in the wild. Hunters seek success on Survival checks. Look-out - In charge of keeping watch. Look-outs rely on their abilities in Perception. Ask the players to decide who takes which role. With the exception of the company’s Guide, more than one Player-hero may be assigned the same task (in other words, there may be more than one character acting as Look-outs, or more than one hero going hunting regularly), but normally no character may assume more than one role at the same time (posing as the group’s Hunter AND Scout, for example). If there’s more than one person assigned to a task then nominate a lead Scout, Hunter or Look-out. That character is the one who makes the check and gains Advantage from the assistance of the other player-heroes performing the Help action on that task. If a task goes unfilled, any relevant checks for that task which come up are taken with Disadvantage. Your first task is then to pick who will fill each of these tasks. After the first four have been filled, the remaining members can pick which role they'd like to assist. Keep in mind there can only be one Guide, and each person can only have one role. Discuss here or in discord what you all want to do. Re: Group RolesVidar isn't particularly good at any of these, and so should be placed alongside someone in order to offer them advantage.
Which I totally look forward to changing up who that is, on occasion, to offer the fun little time with Vidar to any and all Dwarf | Dwarven Smith | Mason | Warrior | In that Order

Hunters seek success on Survival checks. proficient in survival so +4 Look-out - In charge of keeping watch. Look-outs rely on their abilities in Perception. proficient in perception +4 so really he can do anything but scouting Warrior | Elf of the Mirkwood |Nimble | Black sheep | Optimist
Equipment: Leather Corslet, shortbow, arrows, broadsword, short sword, wineskin, Green cloak
Re: Group RolesI volunteer as Guide. I've got pretty good skills for is, am a Wanderer, and can fill in for any roles we leave empty because of my class/background.

Carries: Short bow, broadsword, quiver, seasonal gear, hide armor, travelling gear
Re: Group RolesLooks like I can have some Scout powers with Base Int bonus on investigation, and by virtue of having a horse. But I am not stealthy, so it will be more vanguard and recon by engagement type of scouting. Probably as support for Tirnel? I have some first encounter powers and tricks too via social pools and spiritual powers. I also can hold ground when things go Harad.

Re: Group RolesI also have +2 in Perception and Survival, so I guess I can jump into look-out or hunter roles if necessary, though won't excel at any of those.
Stealth is my best roll out of those though.

Scout - Eoreath Hunter - Tirnel (Uriel) Look-out - Rhawen (Vidar) Leaving Eoreath, Uriel, and Vidar to fill in. Guide can't have a back-up. And if one of you become a back-up for Look-out, you'd become the main one and Hael can't fill in. Re: Group RolesMy best I can offer to a thing is a +1, my worst is a 0, so with the other bits I now know. Definitely still a fill
I use heavier armor, so, teaming up with a Hunter or Lookout is better. I'm happy with either, but if it comes down to preference double up on a Lookout should we get one. Dwarf | Dwarven Smith | Mason | Warrior | In that Order

Re: Group RolesI threw my resume for Scout. if it's not a fit to anything and not good enough for Scout support, I can default to being a bum. I have +2 to Investigation.
